Javier Gámez-Payá

Professor of Sport Biomechanics

Prof. Dr. Javier Gamez-Paya is a professor specializing in physical activity and sports biomechanics at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the European University of Valencia. He is also a collaborating researcher at the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia, Waseda University, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and Reiky University.

 

Currently, he leads several research initiatives, including the promotion of physical activity and sports among the European population. With over 50 scientific publications and involvement in more than 70 competitive projects, Prof. Dr. Gamez-Paya has made significant contributions to the field.

Across Europe, there is a growing need to increase levels of physical activity and sports participation. To effectively address this, it is crucial to understand the barriers, needs, and challenges faced by both citizens and sports professionals. This cross-sectional study, conducted in six European countries as part of the RE-TRAIN Project (ERASMUS+), presents key findings that will help shape future action plans aimed at promoting physical activity and sports participation.
