ELIS Innovation Summit 2023 a Great Success!

On Wednesday, September 20th, the ELIS Innovation Summit 2023 took place at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Over 200 professionals from the business sector, government, educational institutions, and organizations in society and sports were in attendance.

Sport and vitality remained high on the agenda of the conference this year, but there was also a focus on bringing together this knowledge from professionals across Europe. The central theme was, therefore, “Crossing Borders for Sports & Vitality.”

“We believe that challenges in the field of sports and vitality do not stop at borders,” said Rene Wijlens, Cluster Manager of Cluster Sports & Technology and the initiator of this conference. “Collaboration and creative solutions are crucial to inspire and stimulate active and healthy behavior. This transition from healthcare to health care is what we aim for.”

Inspiration from Practical Keynote Speakers

A significant number of top speakers graced the summit with their presence. Maarten Steinbuch (Eindhoven Engine) talked about the theme “Technology versus Impact on Sports & Vitality.” Other speakers who took the stage included Joanne Lane (Health ClusterNET / Digit-Pre), Reinder Haakma (Philips / Inno4Health), and techno-philosopher Rens van der Vorst.

Innovative Organizations at the Inspiration Plaza

In addition to the substantive program, there was ample opportunity to network with other professionals or visit the innovation plaza. Here, various organizations showcased practical examples and inspiring developments related to innovation in sports, public spaces, the workplace, and the data science environment.
