Cristan Segers, adviser on sustainable sport parks at the municipality of Eindhoven. My challenge is not only to make sports park energy-neutral, but also to see how a sports parks can be a source for the sustainability task of the City in the field of water and heat.
Due to the limited space in the City, the municipality is looking for new energy concepts to meet the increasing energy demand.
At sportpark Strijp we constructed an artificial grass pitch, beneath which, lies a Collector Field. This Collector Field supplies the sport park as well as 150-200 houses with heat.
In this presentation we tell you all about the reason for starting this innovation, the working of this innovation, the business case as well as the lessons we learned along the way.
