Ad is an experienced urban planner and project leader, specializing in developing comprehensive plans for cities and regions. He connects diverse stakeholders and integrates space, infrastructure, and socio-economic challenges. Ad authored The Active City and Outdoor Opportunities for an Inviting Public Space, focusing on creating healthier, more active environments.

He frequently advises governments, gives lectures, and conducts design research on active living environments. Co-founder of the Healthy Design Platform and guest lecturer at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, Ad has been a partner at Urhahn since 2014, following roles at BVR and Grontmij.
